11/12/2023 0 Comments Chronojet stride deck set![]() ![]() We're never going to see something nice like an errata to make the crest a simple "GB3: frontrow gains 10k" I agree, but I've also given up on them being nerfed. If you're locals is plagued with jet I'd suggest giving those two a try. I've yet to test against messiah but against jet it was a pretty fair match up, jet is unbeatable if you're playing a controlly/midrange deck like eva, youth, luticia or DOE but against decks like flag and orfist it was not that bad of a match-up. This combined with the guard restrict and retire makes it a nightmare to play into, as their best choice is to either swing into a rear guard (which let's you survive even longer and you can just revive it anyways) or try to bottom deck a restander (which isn't that bad considering you draw so much you're bound to see another inlet, shelling cannon, aricks or ascendance assault). Flag himself can retire 2 rearguards (most likely balih and either a swirler or gigi) and jet struggles to put units back on the board since you really need upstream dragon to get the combo machine going.įlag is good because you can draw 4 off of twin drive, one from his skill and 1 inlet pulse. From there a spiritual body inlet pulse with shelling cannon combined with persona ride and 6 attacks is detrimental even if they spam gigi and the +3 from faterider. I main flagburg and even with a defensive trigger you can survive their first faterider turn and if you aggro them t1 and t2 where they don't really do anything you can push them to 2-3 damage. Jet is surprisingly easy to beat with a consistent aggro deck. The Stride Deck Sets, not only introduce a mechanic that is currently already being explored and developped in another format (that bushiroad sucks at promoting btw) but they also undermine entire new ridelines, themes, and mechanics that are suppose to be the MAIN attraction in the D Format. I think thematically Strides, as a mechanic, should have stayed in Premium. ![]() Personally, beyond the coming meta becoming dominated with Deck Sets. ![]() The problem against Chronojet, is you expend your entire hand on your opponent's Faterider turn before getting a chance to Persona ride.Īnd while Rorowa has no problem spamming attackers with tokens early game, it struggles to close out it's games on T3. I did test out the deck after addind Habitable Zone and Grunder: found out that getting 6 Worlds (with 3-4 Overcoming Eternities) on first persona ride turn can be reached consistently, and ending the game on first persona ride turn is pretty easy. Orfist is missing a grade 1 world order to accelerate it's order count on T3, and thus it's power output. The 2 most promising ridelines in this strategy were Rorowa and Orfist. Well the problem is there is no reliable Aggro strategy that can kill on T3. So an Aggro deck should be able to take care of them. So the main weakness of both the decks is the fact that these big turns are GB locked. All this culminates in a deck that covers all it's bases once it gets to it's first Stride. It has an absurd hand size thanks to Messiah's SB for draw when unlocking his rearguards. It has strong 5 attack turns combined with constant locking of a front row rearguard, limiting the counterattack from the opponent. Messiah can comfortably beat Chronojet, Eva and Youtherk. And needless to say the problem has worsened. And I've been watching a few gameplay videos. Since then, Messiah Deck set released in Japan. And while playtesting the 2 masques decks against Chronojet, the results were discouraging even with the T3 persona ride combo. When I first saw Zorga Masques, I thought: "This is it ! This is where Bushiroad ramps up the power level of the D mainseries decks to match chronojet". Now I thought, that the gradual powercreep in the mainset support would eventually make the deckset irrelevant in the competitive scene. Them being Eva, Overlord and to an extent Youthberk. To my surprise, the deck ended up being dominant in the standard format with only a couple of decks being able to compete toe to toe with it. Ever since the chronojet stride deck set came out, I've been looking at results in the Japanese metagame. ![]()
